About the Concert
Cohesion, Commitment, Culture, and Legacy are the axes for the
Centennial Jubilee of NTNU upon which we review the trajectory of
transcendence, celebrate our contribution to the society, and incubate our
budding innovation. This concert, organized by the Music Department, is
the highlight among the Culture Series and the grande finale of our
Centennial activities. We will perform works by Handel, Mozart, Grieg,
Piazzolla and Schaeffer. Through a flashback in time, the concert takes
the audience on a time ride from the contemporary pieces back to the
classical works by composers of different era and nationalities. The
design of the program is to engage our audience to contemplate on the
milestone developments of NTNU over the last century. We have the
privilege of having Maestro Sigmund Thorp, NTNU Visiting Professor
from Norway, who will bring us the authentic Norwegian sound by
conducting two renown pieces of Edvard Grieg.
